DEMO 1
We are going to test and make a demo about this Virtru. We are going to send an email to other and activate this Virtru. Lets see what happens.
Open your email on chrome. Then, click Compose to write or send files.
- As you can see, the Virtru is currently off and they suggest you to turn it on whenever you need to send a secure message. Lets turn it on by sliding the V button.
Let's say we want to email files or messages to two different people. One is already using Virtru, the other one is not using Virtru.
- The one that has Virtru on is zulkarnainanuar02@gmail.com while the other one is not using Virtru which is ikmalbadrol29@gmail.com. We are going to test by sending the message like the Figure 2.0 below and also some kind of attachment. Then, Click Secure Send.
Wait for your email being encrypted by Virtru.
- Now the message are send, we are going to check whether the encryption works or not.
- As you can see, email zulkarnainanuar02@gmail.com can see clearly what the message and the attachments and can download the attachment. Now lets check the other email.
- In the email account ikmalbadrol29@gmail.com, the message and the attachment can’t be seen and only receive a link.
DEMO 2
We are going to seek out some of the option buttons and explore some optimization inside the Virtru Control Center.
- Come back to compose as click the setting button on the top right corner.
- There are many actions that we can do before we send the email. Let’s check all of them to see what happens to the recipient.
- Let’s put the expiration date around 1 day. Then, send the email.
- If the receiver can’t check the email within the time limit, the email will expire.
- If the receiver manages to check the email in time, they will receive some new info about
the expiration, and they can't forward the email.
- If you download or view the attachment, you can see the document is watermarked because the sender allows the watermarking option.
- Here's is the function of the last option, the Persistent Protection.
- Let’s check the control center. Open Virtru and sign in with your email as usual. Or just simply click the Virtru extension button and click Control Center.
- Inside here, you can see your history of sended email, and you still can customize the email.
- If you click one of the sended email, you can see the security features you’ve implemented, who it was send to and you have the action to revoke it.
- Similarly when you click Files it shows you the attachment that you ‘ve sent.
- Let's revoke the email that has an expiration date of 1 day, and let's see what happens to the receiver.
- As you can see, the job has been done.
